Students in first grade use A to Zap!, which is a terrific alphabet software. There are 26 different and highly creative learning activities with which students may play. Students learn new concepts with each mouse-click.
Students learn to operate a program independently. Click a letter of the alphabet for the precise spelling of early-reading words. In the Alphabet Room, click on a letter, and a word starting with that letter is spelled, letter by letter, on a toybox. A toy will pop out of the toybox and by clicking the toy, it opens up a fascinating activity for that letter.

Students begin using Sean’s Magic Slate in first grade and continue using the program for various projects throughout the computer classes at the elementary school. In first grade they learn to manipulate the objects, add color, and select different options. In third grade, the program is used to learn how to crop and adjust images, and add text to create a story. In sixth grade, they use the program to create a cartoon and add captions.
Sean’s Magic Slate is a drawing and coloring program. Students can choose from four ready-to-color, or randomly colored, backgrounds, then lay out and color objects to create a unique picture. Objects can be sized, reflected, moved, or deleted.
