NEW PRINCIPAL ... NEW FUTURE
Turlock Christian High School Has a New Principal
Article By Demsina Babazadeh

Turlock Christian faces new changes this year as former principal, Eric Davis, gets reappointed to a new position. Mr. John Nelson will now be taking over the position of principal.

On January 29, 2007, the Turlock Christian Board approved the proposal by Superintendent Jack Mayer to appoint Mr. Eric Davis to Capital Campaign Coordinator. A capital campaign coordinator is a job focused on the soul purpose of fundraising money for a particular project. Mr. Davis is God’s plan in action in helping our school grow and move forward. Mr. Davis, a 1980 Turlock Christian School graduate, has been Turlock Christian's high school principle since 1999. Prior to TCS, he was the development director at Christian Heritage College in San Diego, California.  “I love new stuff! I like change, new challenges, new opportunities!” exclaimed Mr. Davis.  Mr. Davis is still going to run the Associated Student Body, Junior Senior Banquet and the Senior Council. He is unsure if he will continue all these roles next year. “If we allow Him, God will have the right people in the right places at the perfect time,” Mr. Davis assured us. Mr. Davis will still be on campus almost all the time but has relocated to a new office. He is currently in the Administration side of the office.

Mr. John Nelson is now the new principal of Turlock Christian High School. Mr. Nelson has always been involved with Turlock Christian ever since it started. He became vice principal in 1978, and then became the principal of the elementary campus, only then to become superintendent from 1983-1986. Mr. Nelson left Turlock Christian in 1986 and went on to teach English and Choral Music at Livingston High School until he retired in 2004. After retirement, Mr. Nelson felt like he needed to get back into teaching. He was then hired as a part-time choir teacher at Pitman High school for two years. “No where in the Bible does it say anything about retirement and the Lord is really showing me that,” smiled Mr. Nelson.

God has definitely appointed the right man for this position.  Mr. Nelson feels very welcomed by all the students and staff here at Turlock Christian. “I’ve been very impressed with the quality of students and how they are very warm and cordial. We also have such a wonderful and gifted staff here, I really appreciate all their comfort and support in this new transition.”

Turlock Christian has embarked on a new quest.  The end result is a new high school campus which will be on the North West corner of Monte Vista and Quincy Avenues.  Building the new high school campus will then increase Turlock Christian's K-12 student capacity. The new building is underway and the Turlock Christian Board has finally decided on Huff Construction to handle all the building aspects of this project.

Please continue to pray for Turlock Christian's continuance in the building of our new Campus. With the Lord's help and the prayers from all of you, this process will be quicker.
