TC Wins Season Opener
On Thursday, August 25, 2005 afternoon the Eagles opened their season with a 4-2 win over Summerville HS. TC controlled the action early but could not convert on numerous shot attempts which just missed. After one shot, Summerville mounted a counter attack which resulted in the first goal of the game off a cross and a back door follow shot. The Eagles would answer with the first of 4 goals off the foot of Sophomore Eli Davis. The shot was created by a perfect through ball from Kyle Holguin setting up a 1 on 1 with the keeper that Davis slipped past on the short side. The score was tied 1-1 after the first half.
The Eagles kept the pressure on throughout the game and eventually began to wear down the Bear defense with their speed. Davis tallied 3 more times; Ryan Wilson played a beautiful long ball from deep in defensive territory to the top of the box which Davis converted to the far post, a loose ball was collected and touched home, Sean Darmousseh set up the last goal with a sweet touch pass that created another 1 on 1 for Eli who was able to convert and complete the scoring. Freshman Jacob Williams played well in net making 20 saves. |
