FIRST EVER FOOTBALL HOMECOMING!
For the first time in school history, Turlock Christian High School will celebrate a Football Homecoming in 2005! The event will be centered around our October 28 football game with the Stoneridge Christian Knights, and will tie into our annual MORP event the following night (Saturday, October 29).
In the mold of our unique and popular Basketball Homecoming, there will be many fun and exciting activities and events leading up to the weekend and during the game itself.
There will be no school on Monday and Tuesday will be a minimum day due to parent/teacher conferences. The rally on Tuesday will be held at 12:00 pm.
On Wednesday night (October 26), our ladies will play in our annual Powder Puff football game. Lights will be brought in and the game will be played right here, on our own field, at 9:00 pm (after church!). The game will pit our Junior/Senior girls against our Freshman/Sophomore ladies in what is sure to be a classic match up.
Thursday will be ‘Senior Day’ for our varsity soccer and volleyball teams as they play their last regular season home games before the playoffs. Soccer hosts Tioga at the Turlock Soccer Complex at 3:30 pm and the volleyball game against the Timber Wolves will be at Dutcher at 5:30 pm. Prior to each of these games, the seniors on the squad will be honored along with their parents for their contribution to the Turlock Christian Athletic Department.
The football game itself will feature a traditional homecoming parade which will have floats from each of the four classes, vehicles for the soccer and volleyball teams, a cheerleader float, and a Grand Marshall vehicle. Our Grand Marshalls will be alumni or coaches who have had a dramatic impact on the athletic legacy of TC. They will also have the responsibility of judging the four class floats and determining the winning class. We will have an entire Homecoming Court as well to include a King & Queen and class Princes and Princesses. The Booster club will host an alumni hospitality tent where former Eagles will be able to get free food and reconnect with old friends.
The week will conclude with our traditional fall event: MORP. This is a Sadie Hawkins type event (MORP=PROM spelled backwards, get it?) where the girls ask the guys, everyone dresses according to the theme, and they go to an exciting venue for a unique event.
This promises to be another exciting week in the life of the Turlock Christian campus. There will be more details to follow as the schedule gets clarified, events and activities are added, and excitement builds. GO EAGLES!
