Karen Winter has 38 years serving as head of Christian schools, with 18 years additionally serving on pastoral leadership. She was named National Christian School Administrator of the year, Woman of Distinction Award by the Senate, and Solano Top Women of the County Award. She received the National School Growth Award, presented by President Bush (for her positive development of schools from 225 to 1,700 students). Karen Winter was elected to serve on the National Board for the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), as well as the accreditation commission in California. She also served as an ACSI district representative for early education for 30 years, helping schools collaborate and strengthen their schools.
Mrs. Winter completed her general Christian Education studies at Biola University. She has an M.A. in Education from California State University, Chico with teaching credentials, preschool through college. She also holds an ACSI Superintendent’s credential. Mrs. Winter has served as a college professor, college supervisor for student teachers, as well as teaching Elementary-High School to reinforce her heart for student learning. Mrs. Winter has led over 100 seminars and leadership training events for church and schools across the United States and enjoys working with faculty and in student development.
Mrs. Winter loves being involved with the students, parents, alumni and community at Turlock Christian Schools. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Jack, for over 40 years, has two sons that attended Christian schools and one new granddaughter, Ava.
